My Biggest Problems with Mohammad the “Prophet” of Islam. A Polygamist and Pedophile.
6Where do I start?… There are just so many things wrong with what Mohammad practiced and preached. Muslims believe him to be a great prophet that is wise and pure, but if a man like that existed today, many people would have a really big problem. (more…)
Why Would God (Allah) Write a Book? Wouldn’t “he” have a better way to spread his message?
11Muslims don’t always mention the details of how the Quran was written. Most really believe that the Quran is the literal word of god and that it has been perfect and untouched since Mohammad’s time. They compare it to the Christian Bible, which was “modified” and written years after the death of Jesus. The truth is, there are many problems with the way the Quran was put together. They just seem to ignore the clues. (more…)
The 5th Pillar of Islam: Pilgrimage to Mecca (A Silly Ritual Accepted by All)
8This topic is really interesting because I never really thought about it from an outsider’s point of view until I started preparing to write this article. Since I never performed pilgrimage (hajj) as an adult (I went once as a kid), I never really thought about it. I realize now that there is a lot craziness in the Islamic rituals. I cannot believe so many people will blindly follow anything their religion tells them to do. You will see what I mean… (more…)
The 4th Pillar of Islam: Zakat (Mandatory Charity)
8Although I think charity is great because it helps people in need, I don’t think it should be mandatory just because you are part of a religion. In Islam, people are required to give at least 2.5 percent of their total income every year to Zakat (obligatory charity). Refusing to pay Zakat is a great sin and will send you straight to “hell” where you will be severely and painfully punished…. Talk about scare tactics! (more…)
The 3rd Pillar of Islam: Fasting the Month of Ramadan (Starving Yourself for God)
5fasting the month of Ramadan (sawm) is a pretty big part of Islam. It means abstaining from food and drinks (including water) from dawn until sunset everyday for a month. In other words, starving yourself to show commitment to your god. It also includes abstaining from smoking, cursing, fighting and having sex. (more…)
The 2nd Pillar of Islam: Prayer (A Waste of Time)
3prayer was the biggest pain in the ass for me growing up. We were supposed to pray 5 times a day: before dawn, around noon, in the afternoon, in the evening and at night. Like I didn’t have enough shit to do!
Keep in mind that the Muslim way of prayer is not as simple as the Christians. It is not just reciting a short passage from the book or saying thanks in our own words. It consists of a series of gestures and movements like kneeling, bending over etc.. Each move has its own prayer passage from the Quran that we have to recite. If anything is out of order, then it doesn’t count. (more…)
The 1st Pillar of Islam: Declaration of Belief (The Beginning of Indoctrination)
0I figured I would start by talking about the basics of Islam and how it is designed for indoctrination. It definitely worked on me growing up and I know it worked on many people around me. (more…)
Religion 3.0 – Islam: The “Last Update”
0It’s funny how everyone is brought up to believe that their religion is “the right one”. Growing up, we were always told that we were just so lucky to be Muslims because we will go to heaven and everyone else will go to hell. (more…)
