Many Black American Muslims are Deluded
As a former Muslim who came to Islam via the Black Muslim movement over 40 years ago I will share a perspective that most here will probably be unfamiliar with. The reason I say this is because there are very few Black Muslim apostates like myself who have left Islam and have rejected religion entirely.
Black Americans represent the largest population of non immigrant Muslims in America.
The Black Muslim movement(NOI) is largely responsible for the widespread influence of Islam among Black people in America even though all are not necessarily a part of it or believe in it’s teachings. NOI teachings are definitely heterodoxical and include many things that are not accepted by mainstream Islam. These include Allah being a man W F Muhammad who came in person to America from holy city Mecca in the 1930′s to rescue his people from the Devil (White man).According to NOI teachings Fard raised a messenger among the lost and found Blacks, Mr Elijah Poole became Elijah Muhammad the messenger of God who was assigned the mission to raise the spiritually and mentally dead Black people back to life. Black people were taught to reject their Christian”slave” names in favor of an X which was interim until they receive the holy and righteous Arab Muslim name. they were taught to clean up their diet and to stop eating pork and to dress modestly. To be continued
